West Shore Sights - Kauai, Hawaii

Driving the first five miles up to Waimea Canyon was like blasting off into outer space at 20 miles per hour. We stopped before the first official lookout to check out the impressive canyon. There Scott spotted goats across the canyon (look for tiny white spots). At the main lookout we all hammed it up for the camera and took group shots. Notice how “cool” Mom is with her hang loose sign. Hildi is looking pretty cool too with her shoes on the wrong feet. Unfortunately we didn’t get the same good views at the end of the road, but could see some water to get a feeling for the size of the Na Pali mountains. The drive down the wind curves was not as fun. We all felt a bit sick when we pulled into Glass Beach, the site of an old dump. There Steve found a motor to rebuild and as you can see there’s progression from old broken glass, to beautiful polished beach glass, metal too. Now if Mother Nature could only do that with plastic! Hildi was making kissy faces for her Daddy who later took nice butt shots of her, Nana, and Sarah.
