Here, Chicks, Chicks, Chicks

The chicks have become entertainment, even for Rockwell (who keeps bringing in birds for us like we are starting a collection) and some of Finn's kindergarten friends (Max and Mak). We have a series of photos of Boots because she's (we hope they are all girls) a slow mover, curious and not easily frightened. She's a cuddler and cozies up to the other chicks. Dolly remains very quite untill you pick her up, then she squaks the loudest. Think fire alarm. Finn's hen Angel is competitive and seems to be at the top of the pecking order. Everytime we put in new straw, Monkey seems to find strands that look like worms, and Angel chases her to get her share of it. That's the reason for shots with staw in thier mouths (you'll see that Monkey tailing Angel or visa versa). Angel likes the perch and is quite a bit bigger than the others. We hope she's a she. Monkey is a funny little bird, like her "owner" Hildi (who is also working on pooping). Monkey's pasted up a few times so has gotten a bit of extra attention and baths. Good thing they aren't outside as we got snow again today.
