We have done a CRAZY amount of stuff the past two months. In these pictures you’ll see our kids have found all kinds of places to sleep - we weren’t so lucky.
For starters, Hildi turned nine months (weighting in at the 50th percentile and is over 100th for height [if I don’t document it here, it’s likely lost forever]). She’s mastered crawling, starting out army style, progressing to a one leg inch and now gets her were she wants to go. She walks a bit too, mostly from person to person, or furniture to furniture, even with a setback (pulled a TV tray over that smashed her big toe). Photos included. You will probably agree it was broken. Luckily Nif had painted her toes for the first time while we worked on Kendra’s wedding invites, so that hid some of the damage. She’s also saying “na-na” for food and “night-night” for milk. Finn nicknamed Hildi Squakian and it fits! She also knows how to sign “all done.” She’s quite proud of herself.
What else you’ll see in the pictures we:
- Turned the dining room into Finn’s workshop where he builds things.
- Cooked delicious dinners, but now Steve has one more patron to please.
- Pitched our tent from Sasee and hung out there, spent time with chalk and hoses in the driveway, swung, rode motorcycles, strung rhode flowers into leis, did house and yard maintenance.
- REBUILT THE RED TOYOTA PICKUP. Steve put in a new tranny, engine, etc. Expect an entry on the whole process when it is 100% complete.
- Bought property with Nif and Scott and are building another spec house at the beach, so spent several weekends scoping and clearing the lot.
- Toured Children’s Museum, Airplane Museum and the Zoo a couple of times.
- Lost our heads and decided to take Kindel and Trask to our house at about 10 p.m. after the Banks Auction for video games, ice cream and Play Park oh my!
- Hit the road for Easter. First stop Robinson/Berge side at Aunt Karen’s, then onto Oma and Opas for the Harrington side. There we learned Finn’s terrible rash was poison oak – the cousins he played with two weeks earlier also had it!
- Toured Willamina. The building bug hit the Harrington’s too. Steve’s parents bought a piece of property 20 beautiful acres on the top of a hill with a panoramic view. Now they have the “easy” job of finishing an existing building with an apartment on the third story of a three car garage and fix up their Salem house to sell.
- Saw Nana turn 60, celebrated Mother’s Day. Sarah’s Mom got braces a few days before her 60th birthday and somehow they make her look more youthful. We celebrated her birthday and Mother’s Day at the beach where Kendra worked on getting Finn to learn to ride a bike. The next day we headed to Willamina for a Mother’s Day picnic and hike. Luckily the beach and Willamina are closer than Banks and Salem.
Thankfully a busy Harrington is a happy Harrington . . .
