Wham, Bam, Clam

Spending time with our nearly-three and six-year-old makes life seem perfect. The kids give us reason to get out to places like Elephant Park. It is so fun to see them be themselves. To be curious about a pay phone, or tile fish on the wall. To delight in a tube slide, going up even more so than down. To test out kissing, then scaling, then licking (??) a stone elephant. To fill their clothes and mouths (!) with sand. That particular night we got to not one, but two parks when we realized Kindel had a game near our house. When the playground equipment grew old, Finn make a huge pile of pinecones and ran around with a small feather like dried pine needle array on his head. Why not? Too soon they will be taking themselves seriously. What a shame.

We are all enjoying the sunshine. It makes it easier to get out and play, easier to put the iPhone away, and trade in video games for clam digging (well we got Niff and Scott to do that), drawing with chalk, blowing bubbles, riding (and crashing) our bikes, and putting up beautiful corbels on our beach house that Nif built.
