Finn Learns to Ski

Mt. Batchelor greeted us with perfectly blue skies for Finn’s first ski lesson. With Steve as his teacher, we were all a bit concerned about how long it would take before one of them broke down. A few You Tube videos gave Steve some pointers on how to get Finn used to skis. The first couple hours were pretty snow going. While the boys worked on plowing, Hildi and Sarah grazed on carrots and hot chocolate. After lunch we were ready to call it quits, but Finn said he was ready to try a bit more. It was Hildi’s nap time, but armed with licorice we went to watch him. Suddenly he could make it down the hill with pretty good control and got in a few runs with a classmate (Jack) whose dad also works for Massini Group who had sponsored the trip. The next day it was a bit cooler, but as you can see, Finn really got comfortable and thought it was funny that he could beat Mom even with his “breaks” on. We’re calling him a skier!
