In late 2007 Sarah's biological dad, Jim Hallas found out he had cancer. In January 2008 he found out it was terminal. On February 17th he passed away at 63 doing the thing he liked best, dreaming . . .
You can read about him in the Seattle Times article, Charles "Jim" Hallas' camera was his storytelling tool, in the River Current News (a weekly where he volunteered in retirement)
Photojournalist Jim Hallas remembered, and artile written by his wife (look for the lightening on the front page). Or spend some time looking at his life's work, a journey where, ". . .my Nikons and press pass have been a ticket to a world of diversity, a magic carpet ride." You might notice Sarah (on Jim's shoulders at right) got her hands, eyes and possibly philosophies on life from Jim.
Sarah plans to collaborate with his wife Lori on a book with his best photos. Stay tuned.
He believed life here on Earth is Paradise. We think he is right. Do yourself a favor, look around and take in this perfect place . . .
